Biography:

Bill was born and raised in Appleton. He attended McKinley, Madison and East High School. He graduated from UW La Crosse with a degree in Elementary Education. He taught for two years in Las Vegas, Nevada before returning home to teach in the Appleton Area School District at Columbus Elementary School. He earned his Master’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University in Educational Leadership. He served as the Principal of Badger Elementary School for four years and then made the transition to Lincoln Elementary School. He previously served as the Principal of Lincoln Elementary School from 2009 through the 2024-25 school year. He is proud to return to his alma mater, Huntley Elementary School.

Ms. Kimball joined the Huntley staff during the 2022-23 school year and currently serves as the Huntley Associate Principal, The Ọmọladé Academy Principal, and Appleton Bilingual School Principal.

Before this, she was the Dean of Students at Horizons Elementary for three years, where she implemented Restorative Practices to address behaviors and prioritized creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students. Earlier in her career, Ms. Kimball taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades at Stephen Foster Elementary Charter School in Appleton.

Her additional roles in the Appleton Area School District included serving as a Summer School Coordinator, Classroom Management Coach, and member of the Future Needs Advisory Committee.

JOEL CANNON

Biography:

Joel Cannon has been an educator in the Appleton Area School District since 1999; his first year in education. Joel taught at the middle level at Roosevelt, Wilson, and Einstein in English Language Arts, Geography, and Math until becoming the associate principal of Roosevelt Middle School/Kaleidoscope Academy in fall of 2008. After a brief assignment as interim principal of Janet Berry Elementary in the spring of 2014, Joel became the principal of Columbus/ABS beginning fall 2015 through the 2024-25 school year.

Joel was also involved in coaching athletics at the middle level during his time teaching including boys and girls basketball, volleyball, and track. Joel has a Master Degree in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University and a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from UW-Oshkosh.
